The text box is automatic resizing now. Please let us know if your need was not met! :)

Xavier Lesage Moretti: It would be fantastic if we had like 5 spaces after the last word. That way it is easier to click into the text box for students. And if you just put a place holder like 1. you can barely click in and then you have to resize it anyways. It is easier to have the students make the text boxes now, but sometimes the text is way too big or way too little so I have to resize it to fit. Adding like 5 spaces at the end would give a little bit of wiggle room. Not sure if anyone else feels this way :).

Kat Spall Hi Kat, have you tried the text box recently? We implemented automatic resizing. Did that work to accomplish what you wanted? Thanks.

I think I found a Text Box Tool to help Xavier, Ben and the awesome Koala team ;-) to help them with our feature request. It is called Writebox, https://write-box.appspot.com/. It allows you to type long text and automatically returns to start a new line once your typing has reached the maximum predetermined width.
The Adobe Acrobat Text Box also works well. The text box enlarges as you type however you are required to manually hit "return" on the keyboard to start a new line.
I also found this https://inkscape-manuals.readthedocs.io/en/latest/writing-text.html. Screenshot of the feature and its functionality. Not exactly what we are asking but offers options for the Text Box feature.
hmmm, could the text box maybe prompt the user to choose/identify their writing intention: "I am writing a word." or "I am writing a sentence/text."

Yes! Or one that automatically resizes as you type! When I put a space between syllables and it drops one of the syllables down to the next line, it's annoying 😂
